CARM GH Extraction Bag Filter

The CARM GH filter unit is a stationary filtration system equipped with automatic regeneration of the filter media using counter-flow compressed air, designed for central extraction.

Filter medium used

The CARM GH filter unit uses smooth filter bags made from microporous non-woven fabric. The advantage of smooth filter bags is the absence of folds, in which material and extracted dust would otherwise accumulate.

Service life of the filtration unit

We design CARM GH-type filtration units so that the service life of the filter media for individual applications reaches at least 20,000 operating hours without the need for manual cleaning.

Most common applications of the extraction system

CARM GH-type filtration systems differ in terms of filter area size and filter area loading factor, depending on the specific dust being extracted. CARM GH filters are successfully operated across the entire industrial spectrum, right through to the most demanding metallurgical operations (e.g. grinding shops, foundries, welding shops, furnace foundries, the automotive industry, coal and coke). The filters are therefore ideal for the industrial extraction of dust particles.

CARM GH filter performance ranges for centralised extraction

CARM GH filters are organised into modular ranges, enabling us to supply filtration systems with extraction capacities ranging from 1,000 m³/h to several hundred thousand m³/h. We design a specific size of filter unit for each application so that we can guarantee the purity of the filtered air, operational stability and the service life of the filter media.

Dust collection options for filtration equipment

For smaller filtration units, we use collection hoppers with a capacity of 30 and 50 litres; for larger filtration units, bottom-discharge containers with a capacity of 150 to 300 litres, and for the largest applications, we use BIG-BAGS or containers to collect dust.

Extraction of explosive dust

For explosive dusts, CARM GH-type filtration units are equipped with antistatic media, explosion relief devices and, where necessary, a certified rotary feeder. For each explosive dust extraction application, we determine the size of the explosion relief area based on the PTCH of the dust being extracted.

Specifications for the design of CARM GH extraction equipment

To ensure correct design, we need to know the application for which the filter will be used, the required volume of extracted air and other parameters such as spatial layout options, the client’s requirements for dust management, noise requirements and so on. The CARM GH filter is most commonly used in foundries, grinding shops, welding shops, or for extraction in the automotive industry and for dust removal during carburising, etc.
