CARM V-BF Filter

The CARM V-BF filter unit is a stationary filtration system equipped with automatic regeneration of the filter media using counter-flow compressed air. The CARM V-BF dust extraction unit is not fitted with a dust hopper. The bag filter is usually attached directly to the equipment from which it removes dust. The collected dust is returned to the production process. The most common application of the CARM V-BF bag filter is the dust extraction from Redler conveyors, small belt conveyors and their transfer points, and the dust extraction from bucket elevators, often in food processing plants.

Filter medium used

The CARM V-BF filter unit utilises smooth filter bags made from microporous, non-woven fabric. The advantage of smooth filter bags is the absence of folds, in which material would otherwise accumulate.

Service life of the CARM V-BF filtration unit

We design CARM V-type filtration units so that the service life of the filter media for individual applications reaches at least 20,000 operating hours without the need for manual cleaning.

Most common applications of the CARM V-BF dust extraction system

The CARM V-BF filter unit is designed for dust extraction from Redler conveyors, transfer points on small belt conveyors and elevators in food processing plants. The CARM V-BF filter is always installed directly onto the flange of the equipment being de-dusted. It maintains a slight negative pressure in the equipment being dust-extracted, thereby preventing dust from spreading into the surrounding environment. Dust collected by the bag filter falls back into the material conveyance path. It can also be used for venting low-capacity material hoppers.

Filter performance ranges

CARM V-BF filter units are assembled in modular series, enabling us to supply filter units with extraction capacities ranging from 400 m³/h to 2,000 m³/h. The capacity of the bag filter is determined according to the application for which the filtration system is to be used. The sizes of the filtration units vary according to the size of the internal spaces to be ventilated within the process, the capacity and the number of concurrent pneumatic conveying systems, or the size and speed of belt conveyors, Redler conveyors or elevators. The filter’s extraction capacity is provided by a radial extraction fan, located on the clean side of the filter.

Dust collection options

The CARM V-BF filtration unit is not equipped with a dust hopper. Dust captured by the filtration unit is always returned to the area from which it was extracted.

Extraction of explosive dusts

When it comes to the extraction of explosive dusts, the CARM V-BF filtration unit is always an integral part of the space being extracted. The filter is not equipped with its own relief area to release overpressure in the event of an explosion. The extraction unit is fitted with an antistatic filter medium and a pressure-resistant filter housing. The release of the pressure wave during an explosion is not provided by the filter unit itself, but by the safety system of the dust-extraction technology.

Specifications for the design of a bag filter

To ensure a correct design, we need to know the application for which the filter will be used, the required volume of extracted air and other parameters, such as spatial layout options, noise requirements and so on.
