CUMA D-ST filter for central extraction

The CUMA D-ST filtration unit is a stationary positive-pressure filtration system equipped with automatic regeneration of the filter media using a vibration motor during work breaks. A distinctive feature of the CUMA D-ST hose filter is its design for the extraction of fibrous materials, wood waste, paper dust and other types of dust which are, by their nature, very light, porous and tend to form deposits or arches. The extraction unit can be installed inside the hall, in which case the filtered air remains within the production area. When the filtration unit is installed outside the hall, the filtered air is discharged in SUMMER / WINTER mode, whereby during winter it is returned to the hall via the exhaust duct and in summer it is discharged into the outdoor environment.

Filter medium used

The CUMA D-ST filter unit utilises smooth filter hoses made from microporous, antistatic, non-woven fabric. The filter hoses have a large diameter to prevent them from becoming clogged with the filtered material.

Service life of the filter media

We design CUMA D-ST filter units so that the service life of the filter media for individual applications is at least 15,000 operating hours.

Most common applications of the hose filter

The CUMA D-ST filter unit is designed for smaller timber-processing plants, recycling lines, the extraction of Chemlon fibres and the extraction of paper dust. The filtration unit is often connected to a briquetting press, which ensures optimal waste management.

CUMA D-ST extraction unit performance ranges

CUMA D-ST extraction units are configured in modular series, enabling the supply of filtration systems with extraction capacities ranging from 3,000 m³/h to 60,000 m³/h. The capacity of the filtration system is determined by the number and capacity of the upstream transport fans. The extraction capacity of individual fans can be regulated using frequency converters, depending on the production technology actively in use.

Dust collection options

CUMA D-ST filtration systems are designed to extract large volumes of waste sawdust or dust; for this reason, 400-litre fabric bags, containers and briquetting presses are used for waste collection. It is not uncommon to use pneumatic conveying to transport sawdust to a storage silo.

Extraction of explosive dust

For explosive dusts, CUMA D-ST filtration units are equipped with an antistatic medium, explosion relief elements and, where necessary, a certified rotary feeder. For each explosive dust extraction application, we determine the size of the explosion relief area based on the PTCH of the dust being extracted.

Specifications for the design of a CUMA D-ST filter

To ensure correct design, we need to know the application for which the filter will be used, the required volume of extracted air and other parameters such as spatial layout options, the client’s requirements regarding dust management, noise requirements and so on.
