Dust particles released into the workspace during grinding are harmful to health. They contain traces of greasy oils, metal particles and abrasive particles. We design and install extraction systems to capture dust close to its source, thereby limiting its spread into the production hall’s workspace.
For our applications, we use CARM GH-type filtration units, equipped with automatic regeneration of the filter media using counter-flow compressed air. For filtration systems in grinding shops, we guarantee a residual dust emission (TZL) of less than 1 mg/m³. The filtered air can be recirculated back into the hall, thereby reducing heating costs.
Stationary grinders – single-disc, double-disc, horizontal, etc. – are fitted with a connection point for a central extraction system. We supply central extraction systems in a welded, thick-walled design, as the dust being extracted is highly abrasive. In most cases, we connect individual grinders via extraction pipework to a single central extraction and filtration system.
For room-wide extraction in the grinding shop, we use vertical suspended extraction hoods, which we position along the walls of the grinding shop. By arranging the extraction hoods in this way, we create individual workstations within the grinding area. The extraction hoods are designed to minimise the rebound of ground particles from the front of the hood. The individual hoods are connected via extraction ducting to a single central extraction and filtration unit. The filtered air is then returned to the grinding shop’s workspace.
We install underfloor dust extraction in applications where it is not possible to use local workstations for grinding. These are operations involving large, heavy or complex-shaped products. Extraction is provided in the space beneath the floor grates. From the space beneath the floor, dust is channelled through extraction ductwork to a central extraction and filtration unit. The filtered air is returned to the workplace area near the ceiling of the enclosure or along the sides of the grinding area.
We are increasingly installing extraction systems equipped with smart control. The CARM GH filtration unit, in conjunction with a frequency converter, automatic dampers, a control system and sensors, regulates the extraction capacity in relation to individual workstations. Individual sensors monitor the operation of both electric and pneumatically controlled grinders. The filtration system starts and stops automatically. By installing smart control, we help our clients save on electricity costs.
We design and supply our systems so as not to burden clients with high operating costs for the filtration system. They utilise smooth filter sleeves made from microporous filter fabric. The filter sleeves contain no fillers, do not tear and are highly mechanically resistant. For applications in grinding shops, we guarantee a service life of at least 20,000 operating hours for the filter media.
