The CARM V filter unit is a stationary filtration system equipped with automatic regeneration of the filter media using counter-current compressed air. The CARM V bag filter is not fitted with a dust hopper. The filter is usually mounted directly onto the equipment from which it removes dust. The dust is returned to the production process. The most common applications for the CARM V extraction system include venting silos during pneumatic filling, dust extraction from silos during filling via Redler conveyors, and dust extraction at belt conveyor transfer points, most frequently in food processing plants.
The CARM V filter unit utilises smooth filter bags made of microporous, non-woven fabric. The advantage of smooth filter bags is the absence of folds, where material and extracted dust would otherwise accumulate.
We design CARM V-type filter units so that the service life of the filter media for individual applications reaches at least 20,000 operating hours without the need for manual cleaning.
The CARM V-type filtration unit is designed for de-dusting during silo filling, with the unit mounted on the silo ceiling. Dust captured by the filtration unit falls from the filter directly into the silo. The second most common application for the filter is dust extraction from belt conveyor transfer points, with the filter unit positioned directly on the transfer point cover. The CARM V bag filter maintains a slight negative pressure at the conveyor transfer point, thereby preventing dust from being stirred up into the surrounding environment. Dust particles from the filter fall back into the material conveyance path.
CARM V filter units are assembled in modular series, enabling us to supply units with extraction capacities ranging from 1,000 m³/h to 30,000 m³/h. The extraction capacity of the system is determined according to the application for which the filter is to be used. The sizes of the filtration systems vary depending on the size of the silos being vented, the capacity and number of concurrent pneumatic material conveyors, or the size and speed of belt conveyors. The filter’s extraction capacity is provided by a radial extraction fan, situated on the clean side of the filter.
The CARM V filtration unit is not fitted with a dust hopper. Dust captured by the filtration unit is always returned to the area from which it was extracted.
The CARM V filter unit is always an integral part of the space being extracted from when dealing with the extraction of explosive dusts. The filter is not equipped with its own relief area to release overpressure in the event of an explosion. The filter unit is fitted with an antistatic filter medium and a pressure-resistant filter housing. When the filter is installed on a silo, the release of the pressure wave during an explosion is not managed by the filter unit itself, but by the silo’s safety system.
For a correct design, we need to know the application for which the filter will be used, the required volume of extracted air and other parameters, such as spatial layout options, noise requirements and so on. The CARM V bag filter is used primarily in the food industry.
